About Us

Sasoon Bakery was founded with the intention of sharing delicious cakes and pastries with loved ones.

A FAMILY LEGACY

Old Sasoon Bakery is the perfect destination for those seeking an authentic Middle Eastern culinary experience. This family-owned bakery, located in Pasadena, has been baking delectable flatbreads and cookies for over 70 years. The bakery is a legacy business that was founded by Haroutioun Geragosian in 1948 in Aleppo, Syria. The business was then continued by his son, Joseph Geragosian, when the family moved to Pasadena in 1986.

One of the bakery’s specialties is lahmajoune, a supple flatbread that is topped with a delicious blend of ground beef, tomato, onion, garlic, and parsley. The flatbread is baked to perfection, with a crispy yet soft texture that makes it simply irresistible. Another popular item on the menu is maneish, which is slathered with za’atar, a flavorful Middle Eastern spice blend made from thyme, sesame seeds, and sumac. The maneish is the perfect snack or light meal, and it’s a great option for vegetarians. In addition to their flatbreads, Old Sasoon Bakery also sells flatbread sandwiches and boat-shaped khachapuri, a Georgian flatbread with a blend of cheeses, cracked egg, and Aleppo pepper. The khachapuri is a unique and delicious creation that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The blend of cheeses and cracked egg gives it a rich and creamy texture, while the Aleppo pepper adds a subtle kick of heat.

Quality is the
number one ingredient in everything we do.

The bakery is also known for its mouth-watering cookies, which are made fresh daily using traditional Middle Eastern recipes. From buttery ma’amoul cookies filled with dates and nuts to delicate baklava, the bakery has a range of sweet treats that are sure to satisfy your cravings.

Old Sasoon Bakery is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. With its authentic recipes, warm and welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to quality, it’s no wonder that the bakery has been a Pasadena institution for over three decades.
